I joined Epicure because it’s awesome, that’s why, lol. No seriously, it was totally more than that.
Epicure comes to the US
I have been with other direct sales companies, ones that carried inventory and they were great for a time – until they weren’t; so I left both companies because I felt it was the right decision at the time for me and my family.
I said I wouldn’t join another DS company, but I would probably kit nap (when you join just for the discount). I have kit napped several companies over the years because I loved their products, wanted a discount, but really didn’t want to actively sell the products.
Well, when I first heard about Epicure, I loved their mission, I loved the idea of their products, especially since everything was gluten-free, a MUST for my Celiac daughter. I didn’t want to join without trying their products though, because – well duh, lol. I was able to have a Canadian friend get me some to try before they launched in the US and I immediately fell in love!
To Kit Nap or Sell, that is the question…
I was still on the fence on whether I wanted to “sell” it though because I had a lot going on and needed to make sure I wasn’t taking on too much (I suffer from anxiety and even though it is under control I didn’t want to over commit). I decided to just “kit nap” and try a lot more of the products.
Well let me tell you, I have pretty much LOVED everything. There is only one product that I have tried thus far that really wasn’t a hit with my family and that wasn’t because it was bad, just not as flavorful as we like. We like our food flavors to smack us in the face, lol. Big, bold flavors, and when it fits with the recipe, spicy!!
Because I was one of the first 500 US consultants to join when Epicure expanded to the US (originally only in Canada), I was gifted the Conference Registration which just so happened to be in Las Vegas, where I live – WooHoo!!! I decided to go even though I still didn’t plan on selling Epicure. Everyone I met was amazing (I’m the kind of person who stands in line for coffee and makes like 5 new friends, lol). I met a lot of my upline, who were welcoming and awesome!! I seriously hit it off with all of them! The information just blew me away and while listening to all the speakers, the founders, and other consultants I started mentally figuring out how I could work this business in a way the works for me and my family. However, I still wasn’t ready to jump in and sell.
I was just placing my personal orders and enjoying the products. But I kept thinking about how I could make this business work for me and my family and how awesome the products were. I knew people needed to hear about them and that they really could make everyone’s life easier!
The Answer…
So I talked to the hubs about it and he agreed that it would be a good fit in how I wanted to work it. See many people, like the majority of the consultants, do in-home cooking parties. Makes sense, right? You want to try the food before buying it.
But I’m not really the in-home cooking class kind of gal. I like my evenings with my family, my daughter has activities two nights a week and the weekends are for hanging out with our friends or vegging at home with the fam. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t do a cooking class, just that I didn’t want that to be my focus. It’s easier to get the word out but isn’t a good fit for me day-to-day. So, I decided to blog about it. Yep, that’s my niche.
I already blog about Celiac and as ALL Epicure’s products are gluten-free it fit with what I am already doing.
So in a nutshell, I joined because I loved the products!
- The Epicure products make my life easier when it comes to meal planning/prepping & cooking
- I am still feeding my family gluten-free, quality whole foods
- I can work this business in a way that works for me and my family
