Epicure versus Tastefully Simple, well first off, if you may have never heard of Epicure. That’s OK, Epicure launched in the US last fall (Aug 2019) so many people are still not aware that we are here. However, Epicure has been around for over 20 years in Canada so they really aren’t “new”. You can read more about Epicure here.
Epicure versus Tastefully Simple
Tastefully Simple
First up in our Epicure versus Tastefully Simple comparison is Tastefully Simple.
To join Tastefully Simple, there appears to be a fee to join in addition to the kit fee. They do have different kit options that start at $99. The kit I was able to see (the one for $99, appeared to come with several business-related items along with some of the Tastefully Simple products.).
In order to stay active, a Tastefully Simple consultant must sell $400 worth of product a calendar quarter (Jan-Mar for example). This is similar to Epicure’s except for the amount you have to sell, Tastefully Simple’s requirements are over 37% more than Epicures.
They do have replicated websites to help promote their businesses. They are free for the first two months, then there is a recurring fee after that.
In regards to Allergen Friendly, I don’t believe they are. They do sell items that “contain no gluten ingredients” however, they are processed in a facility that also processes items that contain wheat – so that would be a no for most Celiacs. Also, on their drop-down menu (I was looking for “gluten-free or allergen info, etc) my only option was “no gluten-containing ingredients”. Now, for many people, this is not an issue, but for me it is.
When I tried Tastefully Simple, it was before I knew our daughter was a Celiac. I did like the products I tried, but they were very heavy in my opinion. I moved away from the products when we started eating cleaner whole foods. After living in Italy, and moving back to the US (where we ate all the stuff we couldn’t while in Italy for 4 years), we realized that all the heavy, processed foods were making us feel gross and chose to switch. During our journey to clean eating, we found out our daughter had Celiac Disease and had to also omit all gluten from the house.
Epicure
Next up on our Epicure versus Tastefully Simple comparison is Epicure.
To join Epicure, it costs $99 US. We only have one kit (we have had a mini kit in the past so it’s possible that we will again) and it is packed full of goodies. You currently get some of the newest seasonal items along with some all-time best sellers as well as the kitchen gadgets to do multiple parties right away. Basically hit the ground running with a variety of items!
To stay active, you need to have sold 250 qualified volume which is basically $250 worth of product once every three months. Yes, you read that right! Let’s say you qualified in May but not June, you could still place a personal order in June and use your discount!! It’s great for kit nappers!
We all have replicated websites that are free!
Epicure is extremely allergen friendly. Everything is gluten-free, nut-free (excluding coconut), has loads of dairy-free items (80% id DF), sugar conscious, sodium conscious, 90% Non-GMO verified, etc. See our Never Ever List below, we seriously have something for everyone – Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian, Celiac, Diabetic, etc. This was HUGE for me because my daughter is a Celiac and she can eat it all! She used their waffle mix today to make herself some homemade chocolate chip waffles!

Similarities
Honestly, the only true similarities that I could find are that they both follow a direct sales model and both offer consumable items/kitchen gadgets. They are similar and I am not saying one company is better than the other. Both offer meal kits/bundles where you can plan out for 30 days worth of meals – woohoo!
