Do you love food? Do you like gifts? Do you like giving gifts? If you answered yes to at least one of those, then you need to read 8 Reasons Why People Love Food Gifts before you make out your Nice List for this Holiday Season.
8 Reasons Why People Love Food Gifts
Before I give you all the awesome reasons, let me explain something first. I’m not talking about uber fussy complicated or expensive foodie gifts. Not that there is anything wrong with those, but they are just not me. I like items that are fun, yummy, practical, and accessible (as in allergy-friendly, vegetarian, or vegan) to the masses (gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, soy-free, etc.). In this day and age, these things need to be considered when giving gifts of food.
Don’t get me wrong, I love going out to eat, but as a family, we are limited to places that can accommodate our Celiac daughter so there aren’t a lot of options. I would love to get a gift card to an awesome restaurant, but those are expensive and my options are limited.
Inexpensive – You can spend as little as $3 on a Meal Solution or $5 on a versatile kitchen tool and the person will have a tool that will always remind them of you or will be able to make a healthy tasting meal that is ready quickly (approximately 20 minutes) and thank you for saving them time!
Versatile – Giving the gift of food works for everyone on your list. You can purchase Meal Solutions, Sweet Dips, etc. as stocking stuffers. Grab a Meal Kit for a Newlywed or a Hostess who loves to cook. The options are limitless!!
Everyone Eats – duh, I know this is obvious, but seriously, we all have to eat! Giving them something that they need and that makes their life easier is extremely thoughtful.
Convenience – one-stop shopping! I can help you find the perfect items for everyone on your list and they will ship right to your door! No dealing with crappy weather and cranky shoppers, score! I have some posts that will help inspire ideas for everyone on your shopping list: 10 Tasty Gifts for Every Adult on your List, 13 Holiday Gifts for People Who Love Food, and 10 Crazy Good Food Gifts for Kids of All Ages.
Adult Kids/College Kids Struggle – We all know that “kids” who are in this group go for convenience vs healthy because it is just easier. I got on this journey because my daughter has Celiac and many convenience items will make her sick, but Epicure’s won’t! They are gluten-free, healthy, easy to make and quick to make!
Clean Eating – with all the information out there, it’s a wonder any of us actually eat. I love food, all food, but I do try and eat clean as much as I can. I also crave change (I just can not eat the same food all the time!) in my meal planning (think different flavors), and it must not be fussy!! I do not have time to make a 10-course meal or anything that requires an hour plus – unless it is a slow cooker meal. With that said, I also shoot for 90% of the food my family and I put into our bodies as “clean”.
Practical – as I said before, everyone eats so everyone needs food! Think of the people on your list who already have everything.
Experience vs Gift – more and more people are wanting to give the gift of an experience instead of a tangible object. But what if you could do both? Wouldn’t that be perfect? I’m like a grown child, I want something to open under the tree. If you give someone a Meal Kit or Baking Basket then you can make the items together. Teach your kids how to cook, or cook with your spouse and make something special for date night at home.
So what do you think? Are you willing to give the gift of food? If you are still making your list, I have an easy printable to help you keep track of everyone on your list.
