Although there are other ways to purchase Epicure products than through a Cooking Class, the primary method to learn about and purchase Epicure products IS through one of three types of Epicure Cooking Classes.
First off, you might be wondering what a Cooking Class actually is. Well, in short, it is a party you have in person (normally, but not exclusively) where you invite your friends to have fun, taste some yummy food and learn about what Epicure has to make your and your friend’s dinner time easier!
3 Types of Epicure Cooking Classes
Now that you know what a Cooking Class is, let’s get down to the three different types of Cooking Classes. One is the in-person Cooking Class, second is the virtual Cooking Class, and thirdly you can do a catalog cooking class.
In-Person Epicure Cooking Class

The most prevalent is the in-person cooking class. The in-person cooking class can truly take place ANYWHERE!! It depends on the Independent Consultant, but I do them at your house, in my home for a hostess (I have a big kitchen and some people prefer to use it :)), at a school during lunchtime for the teachers, at an office during lunchtime for the staff, at a gym, etc. The only limitation is your imagination (and a way to cook!).
The advantage of having an in-person cooking class is that you get to hang out with your besties, having fun and trying food you didn’t have to make! Score!!! In all seriousness, the Epicure products truly sell themselves when people actually get to try them. They taste fantastic, are made with clean ingredients and are reasonably priced!
The only disadvantage is that you will have people coming into your house (yes, calling out all introverts!) or you will be coming to my house (so you need to leave yours). Obviously you might need to spruce up the place in preparation for your guests, but that is really the only “disadvantage”.
Virtual Epicure Cooking Class

You can also host a Virtual Cooking Class. Just like it sounds, it is all down on the “interwebs” from the comfort of your own home where you can chill out in your PJs if you like! This type of party is great if you have friends that live all over (I have friends all over the world due to us being a military family). If you choose this type of party, it will take place on FB in a private event for you and your besties. I still go live and cook at a specified time that can be viewed live or replayed for those that can’t watch it live due to life commitments and time changes.
The advantages of a Virtual Cooking Class are that it really works well for those who have friends and family that live in multiple time zones and who are super busy. A virtual cooking class is only about an hour with some informative posts before and after the live cooking demo.
The disadvantage is that people can’t actually taste the food and for some, that is a big deal (understandably so). A way to combat that is to have the host really talk up the items she/he has tried. Your friends are going to totally belive your word over mine, you have a rapport with them.
Epicure Catalog “Cooking Class”

Then there is the catalog “cooking class”. Ok, it isn’t really a cooking class in the traditional sense because there isn’t a way for me to actually “cook”, but it is what we call our “parties” so it’s what I went with. This type of cooking class can be run in two different ways.
One is that collect catalog orders from your besties and then I input the orders and you get the hostess credit for the party. The other way is that you have your friends over and make them something from one of Epicure’s Meal Kits or Meal Solutions for your friends to sample. You would have catalogs available for your besties to look through. You would collect their orders or have them use your cooking class link to place their order. I would be available during your “class” to answer any questions your guests would have. It is like a different take on a virtual cooking class.
The advantage of this type of party (in either scenario) is that you can do it in small one-to-one situations or still have the lure of a traditional in-person cooking class even if you live in a different state than I do.
The disadvantage is that your guests may not know much about Epicure so without an actual cooking class format, they may be less likely to purchase items. This can be overcome though, so if it is what appeals to you, we can make it happen!
The Choice is Yours!
Ultimately, the choice is yours. The whole point of being a hostess is NOT to create a negative stressful experience. The point is to share something that you think will be beneficial to your friends. Do they need help with dinner ideas, meal planning, catering to allergies, picky eaters, clean eating, etc.? Additionally, you get to have FUN and EAT!!! Who doesn’t like to have fun and eat????
