First Tip to Get Out of a Dinner Rut
Each Meal Solution has a recipe on the back of the package to include a vegetarian option. However, if you search by the title of the Meal Solution, such as Pulled Pork, you will get a list of recipes you can try that use the Pulled Pork.
I have found this extremely helpful, especially since you get 3 packages when ordering Meal Solutions. I also like this feature because I love to experiment and try new recipes.
Second Tip to Get Out of a Dinner Rut
One of the easiest options to change up your dinner rut is to change up the protein or veggies you normally use with that recipe.
For example, I recently made Epicure’s General Tao Meal Solution and used beef instead of chicken and it completely transformed the recipe! So much so, that I prefer beef with it now instead of chicken. Don’t get me wrong, we liked it with chicken, but like it more with beef.
Try making one of your favorite recipes vegan or vegetarian (if possible). We had a vegan guest come for dinner recently and I made Epicure’s Pad Thai Meal Solution and added extra veggie along with some edamame for the protein and it was delicious!
The key is to try new ways to make your some of your favorite recipes. When you start by remaking a family favorite, it’s easier to get buy in from the rest of the family.
I started sneaking in diced onions and peppers into our taco meat and the kids gobbled it up and they normally don’t like diced peppers. Not only does it add a ton of extra flavor and nutrients, but it also adds more “bulk” to the recipe which stretches it further!

I love experimenting with new recipes, but I know that can be difficult for some people. However, if you are in a dinner rut, this is definitely something you need to try.
Start small if you aren’t as adventurous. Maybe choose you favorite regional food like classic American, Italian, or Asian. Do a Google search for “easy Italian” meal and see what comes up. You can also search Epicure’s recipe index as well by typing in “Asian” or “easy” and see what comes up.
Epicure has also had Monthly Taste Tests which I hope they bring back. However, you can always try a new (to you) Meal Solution each month and experiment with that. Again, stick with a theme and start small.
